Nova Ring, we operates the Nova Ring mobile application (the “App”), designed to connect with Nova Ring wearable devices and provide health and activity insights.

1. Information We Collect

When you use the App, we may collect the following types of data:

a) Health and Sensor Data

  • Heart rate
  • Blood oxygen (SpO2)
  • Body temperature
  • Activity and motion data

This data is collected from the Nova Ring device to provide wellness and fitness insights (specially about the sleep rate quality).

b) Device and Technical Data

  • Bluetooth connection data
  • Device identifiers
  • App usage information

c) Account Information

  • Email address (used for account creation and identification)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data to:

  • Provide real-time health and activity tracking
  • Synchronize data between the ring and the App
  • Store and manage your account
  • Improve app performance and user experience

2.1 Find My Ring Feature

The App includes a “Find My Ring” feature to help users locate their Nova Ring device.

This feature operates automatically when the device is connected and may:

  • Display Bluetooth signal strength to indicate proximity to the ring
  • Store and display the last known location of the device based on the most recent connection

Location-related information:

  • Is limited to the last known location at the time of connection
  • Is not used for continuous or background tracking
  • Is not shared with third parties

The App may access device location services solely to support this functionality, in accordance with the user’s device permission settings.

2.2 Social and Friends Features

The App may include social features that allow users to connect with friends and share certain activity and wellness data.

These features may include:

  • Sending and receiving friend requests
  • Viewing shared activity or wellness scores (such as sleep or activity data)
  • Comparing performance with approved connections

Important notes:

  • Friend connections are only established with mutual consent (both users must approve the request)
  • Only sleep, activity, and heart rate are shared between connected users
  • Users can manage or remove connections at any time within the App

We do not share user data publicly or with other users without explicit user approval.

3. Data Storage and Security

  • User data (including health data and account information) is securely stored on cloud servers provided by Amazon Web Services.
  • Data may also be temporarily stored on your mobile device for functionality.
  • We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data.
  • Data transmission between your device and our servers is secured using standard encryption technologies (e.g., HTTPS).

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

The App uses third-party technologies, including SDKs provided by JC Ring, to enable communication with the Nova Ring device.

According to the SDK provider:

  • Data generated during usage is stored locally by default
  • The SDK does not automatically transmit data to external servers
  • Data is only transmitted when explicitly triggered by the application

Additionally:

  • We use cloud infrastructure provided by Amazon Web Services to store and manage user data
  • We do not sell your personal data

In the future, the App may support third-party authentication methods such as Google Sign-In. If implemented, relevant account information will be processed in accordance with their privacy policies.

5. User Control and Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your data
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Stop data collection by disconnecting the device

6. Health Disclaimer

The Nova Ring is intended for wellness and fitness purposes only.

It is not a medical device and should not be used for diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of any medical condition.
